Brian Rule Productions Cooks Up 5 Alarm Reels for NAB!

Every April, thousands of people in the entertainment industry descend onto Sin City for the NAB Conference.  It is actually the largest convention Vegas hosts!  5 Alarm Music attends every year and you can’t miss us in our bowling shirts with flames on them! It is where producers and editors can meet face to face with 5 Alarm Licensing Reps to learn about our libraries, our custom music capabilities, and of course our Sonic Fire Pro software.  Many current clients met us for the first time at NAB in years past and remain loyal.   We hope to meet many more future clients and friends this year at NAB 2010!

Of course we are not the only music library that attends this behemoth conference, so in order to shine, we make demo reels each year to show off our music and where you’ve heard it.  With booths at every turn at NAB, these videos need to showcase why 5 Alarm is the best.   Brian Rule Productions stepped up to the challenge, producing and editing six reels.  Along with our label Rescue Records, we have three new libraries we wanted to present: Lift, 1 Revolution, Stereo Royale, and 1 Versatile Underscore.  Another reel Brian Rule produced for us uses 3D animation to highlight films and television shows where you have heard 5 Alarm Music in action!  You are sure to see at least one of your favorite shows or a film you have seen this year!

If you are not going to NAB, check out our Reels here!! If you are going, be sure to come see us at

Musical Footwear: New Releases – 4/2/10

As the wise Jack Handey of Saturday Night Live fame once said, “Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”  All kidding aside, everyone has their own story to tell and truth is indeed stranger than fiction!  This week’s new releases from the Zone Music Library is a five CD collection of Documentary themed tracks titled Docuzone.  ZONE021 People’s Stories is full of emotive thought provoking tracks that lend an omniscient perspective to anyone’s personal story.  These tracks make it easy to feel empathy for someone’s struggles or celebrate in their triumphs.  ZONE022 Power And Conflict creates a world dominated by battles and unrest.  Tension and raw nerves run rampant with so much at stake!  We return to calmer pastures with ZONE023 Earth Matters.  Mother Nature’s beauty and mystery is well documented through these airy and panoramic tracks.  ZONE024 Going Global takes us to all corners of the World and serves as a bird’s eye view into other cultures.  There is no limit to what can be accomplished when diversity is celebrated and communication is achieved!  It’s impossible to listen to ZONE025 It’s A Strange World without a smile on your face!  This comedic slice of life combines elements of kitsch, slapstick and good ol’ fashioned cheese to accentuate the humor of existence.  You can attempt to walk a mile in another person’s shoes, but listening to these CD’s is a lot less tiring.

The Musings of Comedy and Tragedy: New Releases – 3/5/10

The masks representing the dichotomies of comedy and tragedy derive from ancient Greek Theater.  These symbols of drama date back to the 5th century B.C. and contain exaggerated expressions so audience members could decipher the emotions of the actors even in stadiums holding thousands.  These days, modern technologies provide us with up close and personal views of dramatic footage.  This week’s new releases from the Liftmusic library demonstrate the happy and sad faces of the human condition and act as a musical mask enhancing the action.  The larger than life sounds of LIFT051 Jake’s Space Dust blend hipster culture with laid back slacker anthems to create a cool and easy vibe.  No worries, it’s all good dude!  LIFT052 Arcadia dares you to embrace life in its fullest form.  With clean and refreshing motifs, these tracks feel like an invigorating swim in the ocean on a scorching Summer day.  LIFT053 Too Much Booty is the soundtrack to the party of the year!  These good time Urban tinged songs of celebration allow you to let it all hang out.  LIFT054 English Drama wears the mask of tragedy exposing the skeletons in the closet or dark memories that haunt the heroine. Mysterious piano and lush string orchestrations set the somber tone. These tracks are bound to give your project the dramatic Lift it needs!
