The Fantastic Fifties: New Production Music – 5/13/11
Now that gasoline is over $4 a gallon, it’s nice to think back to what America was like in the 1950’s. The end of World War II brought many of our servicemen and women home to start families, television killed the radio star, space exploration was becoming an exciting possibility and Rock n’ Roll was in its infancy. Yes, it was an optimistic and hopeful time! So close your eyes, picture yourself in a diner sipping an ice cream soda with Buddy Holly playing on the jukebox and boogie down!
The electric guitar was a mere toddler during the 1950’s. The sweet sound of a Gibson hollow body running through a tube amplifier wrapped in tweed can’t be beat! JWBM021 Fifties Americana is a light hearted glimpse of the free and easy days of the fifties back in the good ol’ U S of A.

Back in the day, Elvis was The King of scandal for shaking those sultry hips on stage. Oh, the horror! Here are some upbeat good time rock n’ roll ditties to shake along to. The tracks on DNB709 Burlesque Boogie belong flowing out of the speakers of a 58′ Studebaker.

Early Rock n’ Roll owes a lot to the blues men who came before them. The irresistible allure of a Boogie Woogie piano harmony and the bouncy shuffle groove is the cornerstone of most 1950’s rock songs. BBX138 Big On Blues reads like a love letter to a true American genre of music.
