Fresh From The Fire! New Releases – 1/16/09

Rock and roll defined by dictionary.com –

rock and roll

noun

A genre of popular music originating in the 1950’s; a blend of black rhythm and blues with white country and western

Some say that famed radio DJ Alan Freed first coined the term “rock n’ roll” back in the 1950’s.  Others say that the term existed in slang and was present in popular song as early as the 1920’s.  A lot of evolution has happened in the genre since its humble beginnings.  What was once deemed “inappropriate” (like Elvis’s pelvic twists) are now laughable by today’s standards (Ozzy Osbourne’s run in with a bat).  The first two new releases represent all that is great in modern rock n’ roll.  As the saying goes, “We’ve come a long way, baby!”

Our third new release paints the perfect backdrop for any documentary.  Dynamic and moody, simple and reflective, suspense and mystery….these tracks are great mood makers that capture the emotions of any scene.

Fresh From The Fire! New Releases – 12/12/08

We are proud to unveil three new releases from our very own 5 Alarm Music library!  This week we are going to present an interactive short story to go along with the audio clips:

(Author’s note – Start playing the first audio clip)

The rain’s reflection off the cold pavement looks like blood under the street lights.  Detective Dusty McGraw peers into his binoculars to see two armed men pacing back and forth in front of the picture window.  Suspicious, but Ivan Krotelli and his crew are known drug dealers.  The missing girl is what McGraw was seeking, not another intent to distribute charge against the convicted felons.  Maybe Murphy’s tip was a desperate plea bargain to avoid serious jail time, but McGraw couldn’t risk dimissing any lead.

(Author’s note – Start playing the second audio clip)

A shot of adrenaline echoes through McGraw’s body like a flash of lightning – the binoculars displays Krotelli and the girl in plain view.  Her hands are tied behind her and mouth covered with duct tape.  McGraw can smell her fear from 50 yards away as Krotelli manhandles her like a rag doll.  McGraw grips the handle of his .40 caliber pistol awaiting his opportunity to strike.  He decides he has seen enough when Krotelli slaps the girl hard enough to make her fall to her knees.  The shots shatter McGraw’s eardrums as broken glass from the picture window momentarily obstructs his view.  Returned shots race within inches of his head when he notices Krotelli and thug #1 down in respective pools of blood.  McGraw’s last round connects with Krotelli’s second thug and at that moment he knows justice has been served.

Welcome Mary Lorraine!

It’s a new week at 5Alarm and we’re starting it right by introducing Mary Lorraine Stewart, who this week goes from Jr. Account Executive to Account Executive!   Hired in August,  and coming out here all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Lorraine is talented in more areas than just her marketing skills. She is also an accomplished singer and is long-time friends with former 5Alarmer and Rescue Records Artist, Blaire Reinhard. If you visit our office, you’ll find Mary Lorraine making phone calls and listening to Christmas music. Considering the fact that her dream job as a kid was to place music in movies, it’s no wonder she fit right in so quickly. Welcome Mary Lorraine! (And… if you have a moment… take a listen to her and Blaire singing one of Blaire’s arrangements… ML solo!! 03-landslide)
