Like any good recipe, the end result is only as good as the ingredients.  When you team up big industry names like Grammy® nominated writer/producer Tena Clark, Debbie Allen (Fame), William F. Brown (The Wiz) and in-demand Nashville studio veteran Gary Prim for Twist: An American Musical, the end result is something truly special.

The storyline of Twist is inspired by Charles Dickens‘ classic novel Oliver Twist and is set in prohibition era New Orleans.  The underdog protagonist Twist (played by 10 year old Alaman Diadhiou) is an orphan on a quest for belonging in a cold cruel world.  His journey in overcoming the odds is vividly illustrated through endearing compositions written by our very own fearless leader Tena Clark and captivating choreography written by Debbie Allen.  The seasoned cast brings to life an uplifting musical that is bound to warm the heart.

Congratulations to the entire Twist team for a brilliant run at Atlanta’s Alliance Theater!  Next stop: Broadway?
